Data Management
The Knowledge Utilization Studies Program (KUSP), within the Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta is creating a secure, confidential environment in which to house a growing body of electronic quantitative and qualitative data.
Increasingly funders are requiring researchers to implement stricter security and data management practices, including the use of a data enclave, such as that employed by the Canadian Research Data Centre Program (

) at the University of Alberta. Practices traditionally used for management and security of emails and organizational documents, but that were also used for management of research data, do not meet current industry or research ethics standards for the secure housing of confidential data.
